PASSED!

YES!!! I past!!
After 7-8 weeks of stressful training and worrying, the time finally came to sit the two day exam (at Mt Buller). Looking back it was a lot of fun. All 14 rookie instructors travelling to another mountain was like mini holiday/camp! We all squeezed into a two bedroom apartment at Mt Buller. The girls room was rather cramped fitting three to double beds, and others on small cusions wedged onto the the only floor space. I felt like a ten year old at a sleep over, giggling and joking all night.
The first day of exams: gathered together were 42 rookie instructors from all over Australia, all waiting nervously for instruction, first off the rank, the Children's teach. GAAAHHHH, my worst fear! The teaches took the whole day, 6.5 hours on the snow, with only the smallest amount of tucker time in the middle. Now that my most feared examination was over, I was keen for a few beers. After training for the past eight weeks, beer had been neglected, so you can imagine it went straight to the head. I managed to get myself home and to bed just intime! The second day was tiring, filled with the free riding component. The waiting for four hours at the end for results was extremely paniful.
The sad news was not warmly taken - 11 total passed. Only five from our group passed both the Childrens section and the Level 1. I was the only girl there to pass both, so inside I was jumping with glee - whilst many were showing disappointment in themselves. Being now 9:00 pm and a 4 hour drive ahead, the Hotham crew begain the trek back- mostly with heads down.. not leaving the mountain till 9:30 made for a late night. Even though most are not talking about it back at work, I am very pleased with myself. It's funny, the guy that I drank with fear of not passing the hiring clinic, back in June, also passed! We have celebrated together (Once again!).
