WILSONS PROMONTORY NATIONAL PARK

The Trek began on a Sunny and hot Australia Day. As many of you already know Wilson's prom was severly burnt in 2004 due to burning off becomming out of control. The regrowth in some parts of the walk on day one were absolutley beautiful. As you can see in these pictures it looks a little animated the way the black trunks talk like creatures..
This is me!
We all look rather fresh as we have only been walking for about an hour! The first half of the first day was mostly downhill and deceived both Rene'e and my feeling for the coming couple of days walking!

The boys... Jay, Donny, Jesper and Rune. (left to right)

We made it to our first destination, Sealers Cove. We had a quick lunch, a bit to drink and off we set, battling the heat (30 odd degree's), tackling a hill or two that Rene'e will never forget!
Jesper, carrying eight litres of water, two dinners worth of cooked pasta, two loaves of bread and whatever else he had to fill his 80 litre pack, was also feeing the heat when we arrived at refuge cove. camp site number one. He was extremely dissapointed to find the place quite busy with boats and hikers.. as he'd been looking forward to having a nude afternoon on the open beach.

After a swim and relax after the big day, walking 18 km, we set up camp. Luckily we ate early for there was a storm coming..... Lightning and rain all night.

Rene'e and Jay.
Over looking Refuge Cove on the trek starting out day two.

Below is the spectacular view.. not including the march flies! As soon as you stopped walking you were at risk of being severly attacked by the killer flies

By the time end of day two came we were all feeling the heat and the pain/blisters/fly bites!
It was good to get home, but of coarse I can't wait to do it again. All 42 kms of it!

Our trip went as such-
Day one - Tidal River to Sealers cove for lunch, Refuge cove for camp
Day two - Little Waterloo for lunch, Oberon Bay for camp
Day three - Tidal river... Sandy Point (beer!!)
